Opening of Windrush Square at Brixton
February 18, 2010 from 6pm to 7pm
Brixton is my town and I am proud to be the host of the opening on Saturday 27 February from 1pm. The square has been a long time coming and commemorates the arrival of the Empire Windrush from Jamaica on 22 June 1948. The ship docked at Tilbury from the Caribbean carrying 492 immigrants and, for many, symbolises the beginnings of modern British multicultural society. - I am a Motivational Presenter, delivering workshops in schools across the UK.
I am TV Presenter, currently a guest presenter at QVC, the world’s most successful shopping channel. I have 4 years experience as a TV Presenter, presented in shows on the BBC, Channel 5 and Sky. I also feature in many TV commercials and in 2008 came 3rd in ‘Sofa Factor’ on GMTV, their search for a presenter.
I am a host of live events. I will be hosting the opening Windrush Square in Brixton on the 27th February. Other events have included Balham Street Festival, 2008. Miss Nigeria UK, a large number of charity events, fashion shows and live music events for up coming/unsigned acts. In 2009 I was the host for 'Play it Safe' an NHS primary care event promoting safe sex for young people.
I have been the Head of Recruitment Contracts for a couple of charities introducing corporate companies to talented ethnic minorities for jobs, work experience and mentoring in their organisations. Some of the placements included BSkyB, Channel 4, PriceWaterHouse Coopers and I worked closely with HR in the BBC to develop the first technical training scheme for our young people.
I have over 10 years experience in the corporate sector as a sales executive with IT recruitment, field sales advertising, telesales and promotions.

- I am passionate, energetic and focussed about all I do. Life is for living and I strive daily to find ways to create value in society. I have a social responsibility to improve the lives of people around me and my Buddhist practise of 10 years has been a direct and positive influence to my contribution to peace, culture and education. Whilst I love the excitement of working in TV and at Live events, I am directly involved with projects which encourage well-being all over London. Since 2004 I have been a reader with Interact, a charity of actors who read to patients recovering from Stroke. Interact was voted as 1 of 5 winners for The Guardian Charity Awards, 2009. I am a trained Non Smoking Advisor and carry out 'street interventions' in some of the poorest boroughs in London. The work I do in schools is the most challenging of all my roles. I deliver workshops as part of a team called Fix-Up Seminars leading up to exams. They include: Motivation, the belief system, time management, memory and stress management. I have also worked as a mentoring co-ordinator for 'From Boys to Men' helping to match boys to mentors in Peckham.
I received funding from UnLtd for a youth project which I have created; I will be rolling it out later this year.
I personally love to travel, dance, go to live music events and the cinema. I enjoy breaking bread with friends and burn off the excess with Bikram 'Hot' Yoga and have recently got back into jogging, as i will be running 'The Race For Life' in July this year.
